Novartis Team visit to Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society

Team: Tanja Rauch (Global Medical Operations and Governance Director, Switzerland), Barun Rai (Sr. Clinical Project Manager), Sharmila Thoudam (Lead Clinical Project Manager).

Purpose: Explore research collaboration in Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). They showed interest in collaborating for new born screening for SCD to enable early intervention and thereby reduce morbidity and mortality among the affected.

Global Action Network for Sickle Cell and other Inherited Disorders (GANSID) team has visited Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS), Hyderabad. Prominent members from GANSID, Dr Vinita Srivastava, Senior Expert – National Health Authority, MoHFW, New Delhi, Director, South East Asian Zone, Gansid, USA; Dr J S Arora, Lead, South East Asian Region, GANSID; Mrs Shobha Tuli, Secretary, Thalassemics India, New Delhi; Dr Tulika Seth, Prof. Hematology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Mrs. Lanre Tunji-Ajayi, Director, America’s North Region, Global Action Network for Sickle Cell and other inherited Disorders (GANSID), USA and President/CEO Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario, USA joined the team virtually on 03 Aug 2024. TSCS is member of GANSID and looking forward to working together to make a positive impact on the lives of patients affected by Sickle Cell Anemia.
