Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society organizing International Webinar on “Sickle Cell Disease: Recent Advances and Future”

Webinar on Sickle Cell Disease was organized by Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society on 22nd Oct 2020 from 07.00pm to 09.00pm, which was supported by Novartis. Scientific programme was successfully conducted with around 15 faculty members and participation of 150 plus delegates.

Dr Suman Jain, Chief Medical Officer and Secretary, was the Program Director who initiated the programme with the introduction of the session.

Dr. Ganesh SJaishetwar, Haemato-Oncologist & BMT Physician was the Moderator& case presenter.

The Panellists were Dr Sirisha Rani,Pediatric Haematologist & Oncologist; Dr ParinithaGutha,PediatricHematologist& Oncologist;Dr A Bhagyalakshmi,Vice Principal of Andhra Medical College;Dr Nandakumar Menon, Director, Sickle Cell Centre and Dr Praveen Varma, SNCU Nodal Officer.

Special thanks to Dr T Prabhaker Reddy, COVID Nodal Officer, Gandhi Hospital, he has worked for Sickle Cell Anemia screening and prevention in Utnoor, Adilabad tribal area. He throw a light on government plan to manage Sickle Cell Anemia in tribal area.

It has been productive 2 hours of discussion with prominent panellists and guests giving us input into various factors of Sickle Cell Anemia in current scenario.
